The Work Continues After the 2026 TDP Convention

The 2026 TDP Convention has come and gone, but the work continues. During the convention, the SDEC Hispanic Caucus conducted important Party business, including the election of new leaders. All eyes will now be on these leaders as they help carry the work forward.

The Year-Round Mission of the Official Texas Hispanic Caucus
  • Educating and training members

  • Strengthening voter engagement

  • Supporting voter registration

  • Preparing candidates for public service

  • Recruiting new leaders to continue this work

The Work Belongs to All of Us

Delegates to the Hispanic Caucus completed their convention business, but those doors are now closed. We the people—la gente—must continue addressing the ongoing issues raised at the convention.

These challenges are not new. They will not disappear unless WE work together. Who are we? Look around. We come from different backgrounds, carry different experiences, and face different struggles. Still, we know the problems before us. They have persisted for decades and have become increasingly difficult for people of color in Texas. Many of these differences also keep us divided. The struggles are real and are being felt all around.

Stay Engaged

The Official Texas Hispanic Caucus remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing representation, civic participation, and community leadership through monthly Zoom meetings and year-round engagement.

Join today. You do not need to be a member of any other group to participate. The time to prepare was yesterday.

If you are so inclined, share with us your takeaway from this year’s convention?

We will be hosting a debriefing on July 9, 2026, via Zoom. Contact Philip or Fidel if you want to join in.

Running a campaign is not for the faint at heart. Our folks do it, not just at personal cost, but at great cost because it matters. Engagement matters.

Empowering Hispanic Voices

Welcome
Who we are

We are The Official Texas Hispanic Caucus of the Texas Democratic Party (dba THC). THC organization is a coordinated effort of two of the largest and oldest Hispanic organizations impacting Hispanic voter participation and engagement, the Mexican American Democrats (MAD) and the Progressive Hispanic Democrats of Texas (PHDs).

Mission

The Texas Hispanic Caucus (THC) seeks to raise political and civic consciousness by electing Hispanics to all levels of government.

The Texas Hispanic Caucus will accomplish this by increasing political participation of individuals in all activities of the Texas Democratic Party (TDP), in particular, expanding Hispanic representation in voter registration, candidate training, activist training, voter education, legislative tracking, and outreach to Democratic Clubs, community and civic organizations.
